LEGO Sorting Robot
A computer-vision LEGO sorting robot built on a Hiwonder MasterPi platform.
Computer vision in motion
Built around a Raspberry Pi 4B and mecanum-wheel base, the robot uses LAB color detection to locate orange baskets and red or blue bricks.
Custom Python control handles staged approach logic, PID steering, servo control, and camera-arm tracking across many live hardware iterations.
Built for the real world
The system uses burst-and-cooldown alignment to stay stable while navigating the physical environment.
Every module was prototyped, tested, and refined on the actual robot—not only in simulation.
